Cancelled - Concert featuring Toby Hughes

  • Holy Trinity Church The Broadway SW19 1SB UK (map)

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update: In view of the escalating COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to cancel this concert. We have taken this difficult decision to protect the audience, orchestra members and their families. We hope to be able to reschedule this concert as part of our programme for next year.

Thank you for your understanding at this difficult time.

We are delighted to welcome acclaimed double bassist Toby Hughes for our late Spring concert. Toby will be playing works by Ravel arranged for double bass and orchestra by composer and regular WSO conductor Leo Geyer.

Toby is one of the UK’s leading double bass soloists - a genuine virtuoso of the instrument. His extraordinary ability and talent have been recognised in winning a number of competitions and prizes: the first double bassist to win the Bromsgrove International Music Competition, the ROSL string section final, and the Tunbridge Wells International Young Concert Artists competition.

His command of the double bass is truly remarkable - listen for yourself in the following clip from a performance he gave at the Wigmore Hall in 2017.

Full price tickets are £15 (+ Eventbrite booking fee), concessions £13, and children under 12 go free.
