WSO 65th Anniversary

Kenneth V Jones, who re-formed WSO in 1961, was a prolific composer, and known for his film music. Among his best known is ‘Oscar Wilde’ (1960) starring Robert Morley and Ralph Richardson.

Winning the Royal Philharmonic Society Prize in 1950 and scored for full orchestra, the Concert Overture reflects the mature style of a unique creative voice, well versed in film and television music as well as piano and other chamber music.
